Troubleshoot Z2F Files
Common Problems Opening Z2F Files
Missing Zoo Tycoon 2
You encounter an error message such as "%%os%% Can't Open Z2F Files" when trying to open your Z2F. When this happens, it is commonly due to Zoo Tycoon 2 missing in %%os%%. The OS won't know what to do with your Z2F file, so double-clicking to load the file doesn't work.
Tip: If you don't have Zoo Tycoon 2 installed, and you know of another program to open your Z2F file, you can try opening it by selecting from the programs listed under "Show Apps".
Zoo Tycoon 2 is Out-of-Date
Sometimes your installed version of Zoo Tycoon 2 won't support your Zoo Tycoon 2 Object File file. If you've got the wrong version of Zoo Tycoon 2 installed, you'll need to install the correct version. Most of the time your Zoo Tycoon 2 Object File file was created by a newer Zoo Tycoon 2 than what you have installed.
Tip: Right-clicking on your Z2F, then clicking "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac), can provide clues about your file version.
Ultimately, most of the difficulties opening Z2F files are due to having the wrong version of Zoo Tycoon 2 installed.
