ZPL Troubleshooting
Common Problems Opening ZPL Files
Zoom Player Disappeared
Double-clicking your ZPL file prompts the message "%%os%% Can't Open ZPL File". Usually, this is because you do not have Zoom Player for %%os%% installed. Because your operating system doesn't know what to do with this file, you won't be able to open it by double-clicking.
Tip: When you have another program installed that you know will open your ZPL, you can select it from the other programs listed (see "Show Apps").
Wrong Version of Zoom Player is Installed
Occasionally, you might have an outdated version of Zoom Player installed that's incompatible with your Zoom Player Play List type. If you've got the wrong version of Zoom Player installed, you'll need to install the correct version. This issue mainly occurs when your Zoom Player Play List file was created by a newer version of Zoom Player than you have on your PC.
Tip: Find clues on the correct software version by right-clicking your ZPL file and clicking "Properties".
Summary: In either case, the majority of problems opening ZPL files are related to not having the correct software application installed on your computer.
Other Causes of ZPL File Opening Problems
Although you might already have Zoom Player or another ZPL-associated software installed on your computer, you can still encounter problems opening Zoom Player Play List files. If you are continuing to have errors with loading ZPL files, other external issues might be to blame. Other contributing causes:
- ZPL file type Registry entries are wrong
- Corruption of the ZPL file description inside the Registry
- Incomplete or bad installation of a software application associated with the ZPL format
- Your ZPL file is corrupted (issues with your Zoom Player Play List file itself)
- Your ZPL is infected with malware
- Device drivers for ZPL-related hardware are out-of-date
- Your PC doesn’t have enough available resources to open the Zoom Player Play List file
