Understanding _SLN100 Issues
Frequent _SLN100 Opening Issues
Microsoft Visual Studio Not Present
When you double-click your _SLN100 file, you may see a dialog box from your operating system stating that it "Cannot Open This File Type". If this is the case, it's usually due to the fact that you do not have Microsoft Visual Studio for %%os%% installed on your computer. The OS won't know what to do with your _SLN100 file, so double-clicking to load the file doesn't work.
Tip: When another _SLN100 application is installed, you can choose to open it by selecting "Show Apps" and using that program.
Incorrect Microsoft Visual Studio Version
It is possible that your version of Microsoft Visual Studio isn't able to open your Microsoft Visual Studio File file due to incompatibility. If you do not have the proper version Microsoft Visual Studio (or any of the other programs listed above), you may need to try downloading a different version of it, or one of the other software applications listed above. The primary cause of this problem is that your Microsoft Visual Studio File file was created by a different (newer) version of Microsoft Visual Studio than what's installed.
Tip: Sometimes you can get a clue about the version of _SLN100 file you have by right clicking on the file, then clicking on "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac OSX).
Primarily, problems experienced when opening _SLN100 files are due to having the incorrect version of Microsoft Visual Studio installed on your computer.
Other _SLN100 File Opening Causes
In the majority of cases, installing the right version of Microsoft Visual Studio will resolve your issue. Other _SLN100 opening errors can be created by other system problems inside of %%os%%. Issues that aren't software-related:
- Corrupt Windows Registry file path references for _SLN100
- Corruption of the _SLN100 file description inside the Registry
- Corrupt install of Microsoft Visual Studio or other _SLN100-related program
- _SLN100 file corruption
- Your _SLN100 has adversely impacted by malware
- _SLN100-related hardware has device drivers that obsolete
- Windows cannot load your Microsoft Visual Studio File file due to insufficient resources (eg. RAM)
