Software Overview
rpmbuild is a program used for building both source and binary software packages. The package contains an archive of files and meta-data which is used for installing and erasing the archive files. The meta-data includes package descriptive information, helper scripts, and file attributes. The binary packages are used for software encapsulation in order to be installed while source packages provide the source code and recipe needed for production of binary packages.
