ADB File Summary

There are four file types associated with the ADB File Extension, with the most widely-observed being the Ada Body File format. According to our database, six distinct software programs (conventionally, MacroMates TextMate developed by MacroMates) will enable you to view these files. The majority of ADB files are considered Developer Files, but they can also be Database Files or Page Layout Files.

Mac, Linux, and Windows operating systems can be used to view ADB files. Both desktop and mobile devices enable you to view and (sometimes) edit these files, depending on the software used. The ADB File Extension carries a Popularity Rating of "Low", meaning that these files are scarcely found in most user's file stores.

Although there is a lot more to know about ADB files, those are the most important details of these types of files. If you are having trouble opening these files, or would like more detailed information, please see our comprehensive information below.

ADB File Complications

Common ADB Opening Problems

MacroMates TextMate Disappeared

Double-clicking your ADB file prompts the message "%%os%% Can't Open ADB File". If so, it typically means that you don't have MacroMates TextMate installed for %%os%%. Your operating system cannot associate your ADB with MacroMates TextMate, so double-clicking the file won't work.

Tip: Another ADB-related program can be selected to open the file by clicking "Show Apps" and finding the application.

MacroMates TextMate is Out-of-Date

Your Ada Body File file is incompatible with MacroMates TextMate because you might have the wrong version installed. Installing the latest version of MacroMates TextMate from MacroMates is recommended. The primary cause of this problem is that your Ada Body File file was created by a different (newer) version of MacroMates TextMate than what's installed.

Tip: Sometimes you can get a clue about the version of ADB file you have by right clicking on the file, then clicking on "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac OSX).

Summary: Not having the right MacroMates TextMate version on your computer can cause problems opening ADB files.

Additional ADB Opening Issues

Assuming you have the right MacroMates TextMate version installed, other problems can prevent you from opening ADB files. If you are continuing to have errors with loading ADB files, other external issues might be to blame. Additional factors include:

  • ADB file references in the Windows Registry are broken
  • Mistaken removal of the Windows registry ADB description
  • Defective install of a ADB program, such as MacroMates TextMate
  • Your ADB file is corrupted (issues with your Ada Body File file itself)
  • Malware-tainted ADB file can't be opened
  • ADB-related hardware has device drivers that obsolete
  • Insufficient system resources to successfully open Ada Body File files
