ADS File Complications
Typical ADS Opening Challenges
MacroMates TextMate is Not Installed
If you attempt to load your ADS file, you experience a message such as "Can't Open ADS Files". If so, it typically means that you don't have MacroMates TextMate installed for %%os%%. Your operating system cannot associate your ADS with MacroMates TextMate, so double-clicking the file won't work.
Tip: Another ADS-related program can be selected to open the file by clicking "Show Apps" and finding the application.
Wrong Version of MacroMates TextMate is Installed
Occasionally, you might have an outdated version of MacroMates TextMate installed that's incompatible with your Ada Specification File type. Installing the latest version of MacroMates TextMate from MacroMates is recommended. This problem is predominately due to having a Ada Specification File file version that was created by a newer version of MacroMates TextMate than what you have installed on your PC.
Tip: You can sometimes get hints about the right program version by right-clicking on the ADS file, selecting "Properties", and looking at the version information.
Summary: In either case, the majority of problems opening ADS files are related to not having the correct software application installed on your computer.
More Causes of Problems Opening ADSs
