AMXX File Complications
Issues Opening AMXX Files
AMX Mod X is Not Installed
You encounter an error message such as "%%os%% Can't Open AMXX Files" when trying to open your AMXX. When this happens, it is commonly due to AMX Mod X missing in %%os%%. You won't be able to double-click to open your AMXX because your OS doesn't know what to do with it.
Tip: When you have another program installed that you know will open your AMXX, you can select it from the other programs listed (see "Show Apps").
Incorrect AMX Mod X Version
In some cases, you might have a newer (or older) version of a AMX Mod X Plugin File file that is unsupported by your installed application version. Visit the Open Source website to download (or purchase) the latest version of AMX Mod X. Most of the time your AMX Mod X Plugin File file was created by a newer AMX Mod X than what you have installed.
Tip: Right-clicking on your AMXX, then clicking "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac), can provide clues about your file version.
Primarily, problems experienced when opening AMXX files are due to having the incorrect version of AMX Mod X installed on your computer.
More Causes of Problems Opening AMXXs
Assuming you have the right AMX Mod X version installed, other problems can prevent you from opening AMXX files. If you are still having problems opening AMXX files, there may be other issues that are preventing you from opening these files. Other contributing causes:
- File references in the Windows Registry for AMXX are wrong

- Invalid installation of a AMXX-associated program (eg. AMX Mod X)
