Sources of ANT Problems
Issues Opening ANT Files
Radio Mobile Not Present
When trying to open your ANT file, you get the error "Can't Open ANT File Type". Generally, this is experienced in %%os%% because Radio Mobile isn't installed on your PC. This will prevent you from double-clicking to open the ANT file because the OS doesn’t know how to handle it.
Tip: If you have another software that you know opens ANT files, you can select it by hitting the "Show Apps" button.
Incorrect Radio Mobile Version
Sometimes your installed version of Radio Mobile won't support your Radio Mobile Antenna Definition file. If you do not have the proper version Radio Mobile (or any of the other programs listed above), you may need to try downloading a different version of it, or one of the other software applications listed above. This problem is most common when you have an older version of the software application, and your file was created by a newer version that it cannot recognize.
Tip: Right-clicking on your ANT, then clicking "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac), can provide clues about your file version.
Primarily, problems experienced when opening ANT files are due to having the incorrect version of Radio Mobile installed on your computer.
Other ANT File Opening Causes
You can still experience errors opening ANT files even with the latest version of Radio Mobile installed on your PC. There can be other issues - unrelated to software - preventing you from opening ANT files. Issues that aren't software-related:
- Invalid ANT file references in the Windows Registry (the "phonebook" of the Windows Operating System)
- Corruption of the ANT file description inside the Registry
- Defective install of a ANT program, such as Radio Mobile
- File corruption affecting your ANT file
- ANT file integrity has been compromised by malware
- ANT-related hardware has device drivers that obsolete
- Too many applications are open on your PC to load your Radio Mobile Antenna Definition file successfully
