Understanding BHW Issues
Common BHW Opening Problems
Blophome Isn't There
When you double-click your BHW file, you may see a dialog box from your operating system stating that it "Cannot Open This File Type". If so, it typically means that you don't have Blophome installed for %%os%%. The typical path of opening your BHW with a double-click won't work because %%os%% cannot make the program connection.
Tip: If you have another software that you know opens BHW files, you can select it by hitting the "Show Apps" button.
Wrong Version of Blophome is Installed
Sometimes your installed version of Blophome won't support your Blophome Published Project file. Download the latest Blophome version from the Open Source website to ensure you have the correct one installed. This issue mainly occurs when your Blophome Published Project file was created by a newer version of Blophome than you have on your PC.
Tip: Right-clicking on your BHW, then clicking "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac), can provide clues about your file version.
Summary: Not having the right Blophome version on your computer can cause problems opening BHW files.
Associated Difficulties Loading BHW Files
Even with the correct version of Blophome installed, you can still experience difficulties opening BHWs. If you are still having problems opening BHW files, there may be other issues that are preventing you from opening these files. Other contributing causes:
- Corrupt Windows Registry file path references for BHW
- Unintentional removal of the description of the BHW file inside the Windows Registry
- Invalid installation of a BHW-associated program (eg. Blophome)
- The BHW itself is corrupted
- The BHW is infected with a virus
- BHW-related hardware has device drivers that obsolete
- Windows has inadequate resources to open your Blophome Published Project file
