BOO Troubleshooting
Common BOO Opening Problems
Missing ZipZag
You attempt to load your BOO file and get an error such as "%%os%% Can't Open The BOO File Extension". Generally, this is experienced in %%os%% because ZipZag isn't installed on your PC. This will prevent you from double-clicking to open the BOO file because the OS doesn’t know how to handle it.
Tip: If you know of another program that can open your BOO file, you can try opening it by selecting the application from the programs listed.
ZipZag is Out-of-Date
In other instances, your Booasm Compressed Archive file version may not be supported by your version of ZipZag. You will need to download a newer version of ZipZag if you don't have the right version. This issue mainly occurs when your Booasm Compressed Archive file was created by a newer version of ZipZag than you have on your PC.
Tip: You can sometimes get hints about the right program version by right-clicking on the BOO file, selecting "Properties", and looking at the version information.
Regardless, most of the BOO file opening problems relate to not having the right version of ZipZag installed.
Additional BOO Opening Issues
Even with the correct version of ZipZag installed, you can still experience difficulties opening BOOs. If you are continuing to have errors with loading BOO files, other external issues might be to blame. Other contributing causes:
- Invalid BOO file references in the Windows Registry (the "phonebook" of the Windows Operating System)
- The BOO file description within the Windows Registry was removed
- Invalid installation of a BOO-associated program (eg. ZipZag)
- Something has caused file corruption of your BOO
- Malware-tainted BOO file can't be opened
- Device drivers of the hardware associated with your BOO file are corrupt or out-of-date
- Your PC doesn’t have enough available resources to open the Booasm Compressed Archive file
