CFOG Troubleshooting
Issues Opening CFOG Files
Cloudfogger Disappeared
You attempt to load your CFOG file and get an error such as "%%os%% Can't Open The CFOG File Extension". Customarily, this means that Cloudfogger is not installed on %%os%%. The OS won't know what to do with your CFOG file, so double-clicking to load the file doesn't work.
Tip: Another CFOG-related program can be selected to open the file by clicking "Show Apps" and finding the application.
Cloudfogger is Out-of-Date
In other instances, your Cloudfogger Encrypted Data file version may not be supported by your version of Cloudfogger. If you do not have the proper version Cloudfogger (or any of the other programs listed above), you may need to try downloading a different version of it, or one of the other software applications listed above. The primary cause of this problem is that your Cloudfogger Encrypted Data file was created by a different (newer) version of Cloudfogger than what's installed.
Tip: Sometimes you can get a clue about the version of CFOG file you have by right clicking on the file, then clicking on "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac OSX).
Summary: Not having the right Cloudfogger version on your computer can cause problems opening CFOG files.
Additional CFOG Opening Issues
Even with the correct version of Cloudfogger installed, you can still experience difficulties opening CFOGs. If you're still experiencing problems opening CFOG files, there could be other computer problems. Problems unrelated to software:
- Windows Registry CFOG file paths that are incorrect
- Unintentional removal of the description of the CFOG file inside the Windows Registry
- Invalid installation of a CFOG-associated program (eg. Cloudfogger)
- Your CFOG can't be loaded properly (file corruption)
- Your CFOG is infected with malware
- Hardware related to CFOGs has device driver corruption
- Windows has inadequate resources to open your Cloudfogger Encrypted Data file
