CLJ Troubleshooting
Issues Opening CLJ Files
Clojure Not Present
If you attempt to load your CLJ file, you experience a message such as "Can't Open CLJ Files". When this happens, it is commonly due to Clojure missing in %%os%%. Because your operating system doesn't know what to do with this file, you won't be able to open it by double-clicking.
Tip: If you have another software that you know opens CLJ files, you can select it by hitting the "Show Apps" button.
Obsolete Version of Clojure
Sometimes your installed version of Clojure won't support your Clojure Source Code file. Download the latest Clojure version from the Open Source website to ensure you have the correct one installed. This issue mainly occurs when your Clojure Source Code file was created by a newer version of Clojure than you have on your PC.
Tip: Investigate your CLJ file by right-clicking and selecting "Properties" to find clues on what version you need.
Regardless, most of the CLJ file opening problems relate to not having the right version of Clojure installed.
Other CLJ File Issues
Errors opening Clojure Source Code files can still occur even with the latest Clojure software installed on your computer. There can be external issues inside of %%os%% that are causing these errors when opening CLJs. These other problems include (listed in order from most to least common):
- CLJ file type Registry entries are wrong
- Unintentional removal of the description of the CLJ file inside the Windows Registry
- Clojure or another CLJ application experienced a flawed installation
- The CLJ itself is corrupted
- CLJ file integrity has been compromised by malware
- Drivers associated with CLJ software need to be updated
- Your computer does not have the adequate system resources to open the Clojure Source Code format
