Troubleshooting Problems Opening CNJ Files
Typical CNJ Opening Challenges
Acharya Removed
When you double-click your CNJ file, you may see a dialog box from your operating system stating that it "Cannot Open This File Type". When this happens, it is commonly due to Acharya missing in %%os%%. You won't be able to double-click to open your CNJ because your OS doesn't know what to do with it.
Tip: When you have another program installed that you know will open your CNJ, you can select it from the other programs listed (see "Show Apps").
Acharya is Out-of-Date
Occasionally, you might have an outdated version of Acharya installed that's incompatible with your Acharya Conjunct Data type. Download the latest Acharya version from the Open Source website to ensure you have the correct one installed. This issue mainly occurs when your Acharya Conjunct Data file was created by a newer version of Acharya than you have on your PC.
Tip: You can sometimes get hints about the right program version by right-clicking on the CNJ file, selecting "Properties", and looking at the version information.
Ultimately, most of the difficulties opening CNJ files are due to having the wrong version of Acharya installed.
More Causes of Problems Opening CNJs
Although you might already have Acharya or another CNJ-associated software installed on your computer, you can still encounter problems opening Acharya Conjunct Data files. - Defective install of a CNJ program, such as Acharya
- The CNJ itself is corrupted
- Malware-tainted CNJ file can't be opened
- Drivers associated with CNJ software need to be updated
- Windows cannot load your Acharya Conjunct Data file due to insufficient resources (eg. RAM)
