CPGZ Troubleshooting
Common CPGZ Opening Problems
Apple Archive Utility Disappeared
Double-clicking your CPGZ file prompts the message "%%os%% Can't Open CPGZ File". Customarily, this means that Apple Archive Utility is not installed on %%os%%. You won't be able to double-click to open your CPGZ because your OS doesn't know what to do with it.
Tip: When another CPGZ application is installed, you can choose to open it by selecting "Show Apps" and using that program.
Apple Archive Utility Requires Update
It is possible that your version of Apple Archive Utility isn't able to open your Compressed UNIX CPIO Archive file due to incompatibility. If you do not have the proper version Apple Archive Utility (or any of the other programs listed above), you may need to try downloading a different version of it, or one of the other software applications listed above. Most of the time your Compressed UNIX CPIO Archive file was created by a newer Apple Archive Utility than what you have installed.
Tip: If you right-click on your CPGZ file, then select "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac), you can obtain hints about what version you need.
Summary: In either case, the majority of problems opening CPGZ files are related to not having the correct software application installed on your computer.
Other Causes of CPGZ File Opening Problems

- Deletion of the CPGZ file description from the Registry by mistake
- Corrupt install of Apple Archive Utility or other CPGZ-related program
