DMAP Troubleshooting
Common Problems Opening DMAP Files
Conquer Online 2 Isn't There
When you double-click your DMAP file, you may see a dialog box from your operating system stating that it "Cannot Open This File Type". Usually, this is because you do not have Conquer Online 2 for %%os%% installed. Your operating system cannot associate your DMAP with Conquer Online 2, so double-clicking the file won't work.
Tip: If you don't have Conquer Online 2 installed, and you know of another program to open your DMAP file, you can try opening it by selecting from the programs listed under "Show Apps".
Conquer Online 2 Requires Update
It is possible that your version of Conquer Online 2 isn't able to open your Conquer Online 2 Game Map file due to incompatibility. If you do not have the proper version Conquer Online 2 (or any of the other programs listed above), you may need to try downloading a different version of it, or one of the other software applications listed above. This issue mainly occurs when your Conquer Online 2 Game Map file was created by a newer version of Conquer Online 2 than you have on your PC.
Tip: Right-clicking on your DMAP, then clicking "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac), can provide clues about your file version.
Summary: Not having the right Conquer Online 2 version on your computer can cause problems opening DMAP files.
Other DMAP File Issues
Assuming you have the right Conquer Online 2 version installed, other problems can prevent you from opening DMAP files. There can be other issues - unrelated to software - preventing you from opening DMAP files. Other contributing causes:
- Windows Registry DMAP file paths that are incorrect
- Deletion of the DMAP file description from the Registry by mistake
- Invalid installation of a DMAP-associated program (eg. Conquer Online 2)
- DMAP file corruption
- The DMAP is infected with a virus
- DMAP-related hardware has device drivers that obsolete
- Windows has inadequate resources to open your Conquer Online 2 Game Map file
