Common DUCK Opening Problems

Cyberduck Not Present

When you double-click your DUCK file, you may see a dialog box from your operating system stating that it "Cannot Open This File Type". Customarily, this means that Cyberduck is not installed on %%os%%. This will prevent you from double-clicking to open the DUCK file because the OS doesn’t know how to handle it.

Tip: Another DUCK-related program can be selected to open the file by clicking "Show Apps" and finding the application.

Incorrect Cyberduck Version

It is possible that your version of Cyberduck isn't able to open your Cyberduck Bookmark file due to incompatibility. If you do not have the proper version Cyberduck (or any of the other programs listed above), you may need to try downloading a different version of it, or one of the other software applications listed above. This issue mainly occurs when your Cyberduck Bookmark file was created by a newer version of Cyberduck than you have on your PC.

Tip: Find clues on the correct software version by right-clicking your DUCK file and clicking "Properties".

Conclusion: The majority of DUCK file opening issues are due to not having the correct Cyberduck version installed.
