Troubleshooting Problems Opening DVDRIP Files
Common Problems Opening DVDRIP Files
Unknown Software Not Present
If you attempt to load your DVDRIP file, you experience a message such as "Can't Open DVDRIP Files". When this happens, it is commonly due to Unknown Software missing in %%os%%. The OS won't know what to do with your DVDRIP file, so double-clicking to load the file doesn't work.
Tip: If you have another software that you know opens DVDRIP files, you can select it by hitting the "Show Apps" button.
Unknown Software is Out-of-Date
In some cases, you might have a newer (or older) version of a DVD Disk Image file that is unsupported by your installed application version. Visit the Unknown Developer website to download (or purchase) the latest version of Unknown Software. The primary cause of this problem is that your DVD Disk Image file was created by a different (newer) version of Unknown Software than what's installed.
Tip: Investigate your DVDRIP file by right-clicking and selecting "Properties" to find clues on what version you need.
Summary: In either case, the majority of problems opening DVDRIP files are related to not having the correct software application installed on your computer.
Other DVDRIP File Issues
Even with the correct version of Unknown Software installed, you can still experience difficulties opening DVDRIPs. If you are continuing to have errors with loading DVDRIP files, other external issues might be to blame. Additional factors include:
- File references in the Windows Registry for DVDRIP are wrong
- Deletion of the DVDRIP file description from the Registry by mistake
- Corrupt install of Unknown Software or other DVDRIP-related program
- Something has caused file corruption of your DVDRIP
- DVDRIP file integrity has been compromised by malware
- Hardware related to DVDRIPs has device driver corruption
- Your computer does not have the adequate system resources to open the DVD Disk Image format
