Sources of ENH Problems
Frequent ENH Opening Issues
Missing CRiSP Harvest
You encounter an error message such as "%%os%% Can't Open ENH Files" when trying to open your ENH. If so, it typically means that you don't have CRiSP Harvest installed for %%os%%. You won't be able to double-click to open your ENH because your OS doesn't know what to do with it.
Tip: When you have another program installed that you know will open your ENH, you can select it from the other programs listed (see "Show Apps").
Wrong Version of CRiSP Harvest is Installed
Occasionally, you might have an outdated version of CRiSP Harvest installed that's incompatible with your CRiSP Harvest Model Enhancement File type. You will need to download a newer version of CRiSP Harvest if you don't have the right version. The primary cause of this problem is that your CRiSP Harvest Model Enhancement File file was created by a different (newer) version of CRiSP Harvest than what's installed.
Tip: You can sometimes get hints about the right program version by right-clicking on the ENH file, selecting "Properties", and looking at the version information.
Summary: In either case, the majority of problems opening ENH files are related to not having the correct software application installed on your computer.
Other Causes of ENH File Opening Problems
You can still experience errors opening ENH files even with the latest version of CRiSP Harvest installed on your PC. There can be other issues - unrelated to software - preventing you from opening ENH files. Additional factors include:
- Windows Registry ENH file paths that are incorrect
- Unintentional removal of the description of the ENH file inside the Windows Registry
- Defective install of a ENH program, such as CRiSP Harvest
- ENH file corruption
- Past or present virus infection has affected your ENH
- Device drivers for ENH-related hardware are out-of-date
- Your computer does not have the adequate system resources to open the CRiSP Harvest Model Enhancement File format
