Understanding EPL Issues
Troubles Opening EPL Files
TallyMan Disappeared
If you attempt to load your EPL file, you experience a message such as "Can't Open EPL Files". If this is the case, it's usually due to the fact that you do not have TallyMan for %%os%% installed on your computer. Your operating system cannot associate your EPL with TallyMan, so double-clicking the file won't work.
Tip: If you know of another program that can open your EPL file, you can try opening it by selecting the application from the programs listed.
Incorrect TallyMan Version
Occasionally, you might have an outdated version of TallyMan installed that's incompatible with your Tallyman E-commerce Software File type. Download the latest TallyMan version from the Open Source website to ensure you have the correct one installed. This problem is most common when you have an older version of the software application, and your file was created by a newer version that it cannot recognize.
Tip: You can sometimes get hints about the right program version by right-clicking on the EPL file, selecting "Properties", and looking at the version information.
Conclusion: The majority of EPL file opening issues are due to not having the correct TallyMan version installed.
Additional EPL Opening Issues
Assuming you have the right TallyMan version installed, other problems can prevent you from opening EPL files. If you are still having problems opening EPL files, there may be other issues that are preventing you from opening these files. These other problems include (listed in order from most to least common):
- Corrupt Windows Registry file path references for EPL
- Corruption of the EPL file description inside the Registry
- Corrupt install of TallyMan or other EPL-related program
- Your EPL file is corrupted (issues with your Tallyman E-commerce Software File file itself)
- Your EPL has adversely impacted by malware
- EPL-related hardware has device drivers that obsolete
- Windows has inadequate resources to open your Tallyman E-commerce Software File file
