Troubleshooting Problems Opening EUS Files
Common Problems Opening EUS Files
EDonkey2000 Not Present
If you attempt to load your EUS file, you experience a message such as "Can't Open EUS Files". Customarily, this means that EDonkey2000 is not installed on %%os%%. The typical path of opening your EUS with a double-click won't work because %%os%% cannot make the program connection.
Tip: If you have another software that you know opens EUS files, you can select it by hitting the "Show Apps" button.
EDonkey2000 is Out-of-Date
It is possible that your version of EDonkey2000 isn't able to open your eDonkey2000 Serverlist Tool file due to incompatibility. If you do not have the proper version EDonkey2000 (or any of the other programs listed above), you may need to try downloading a different version of it, or one of the other software applications listed above. This problem is most common when you have an older version of the software application, and your file was created by a newer version that it cannot recognize.
Tip: Right-clicking on your EUS, then clicking "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac), can provide clues about your file version.
Summary: In either case, the majority of problems opening EUS files are related to not having the correct software application installed on your computer.
Associated Difficulties Loading EUS Files
Assuming you have the right EDonkey2000 version installed, other problems can prevent you from opening EUS files. If you are still having problems opening EUS files, there may be other issues that are preventing you from opening these files. Problems unrelated to software:
- File references in the Windows Registry for EUS are wrong
- Deletion of the EUS file description from the Registry by mistake
- EDonkey2000 or another EUS application experienced a flawed installation
- The EUS itself is corrupted
- EUS file integrity has been compromised by malware
- Hardware associated with EUS has outdated drivers
- Insufficient system resources to successfully open eDonkey2000 Serverlist Tool files
