Sources of FAT Problems

Common FAT Opening Problems

Zinf Audio Player Disappeared

If you attempt to load your FAT file, you experience a message such as "Can't Open FAT Files". Generally, this is experienced in %%os%% because Zinf Audio Player isn't installed on your PC. Your operating system cannot associate your FAT with Zinf Audio Player, so double-clicking the file won't work.

Tip: When another FAT application is installed, you can choose to open it by selecting "Show Apps" and using that program.

Outdated Zinf Audio Player

Your Zinf Theme File file is incompatible with Zinf Audio Player because you might have the wrong version installed. You will need to download a newer version of Zinf Audio Player if you don't have the right version. The primary cause of this problem is that your Zinf Theme File file was created by a different (newer) version of Zinf Audio Player than what's installed.

Tip: If you right-click on your FAT file, then select "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac), you can obtain hints about what version you need.

Summary: Not having the right Zinf Audio Player version on your computer can cause problems opening FAT files.

Other FAT File Opening Causes

Although you might already have Zinf Audio Player or another FAT-associated software installed on your computer, you can still encounter problems opening Zinf Theme File files. There can be external issues inside of %%os%% that are causing these errors when opening FATs. Other contributing causes:

  • FAT file type Registry entries are wrong
  • Mistaken removal of the Windows registry FAT description
  • Defective install of a FAT program, such as Zinf Audio Player
  • Your FAT file is corrupted (issues with your Zinf Theme File file itself)
  • Your FAT has adversely impacted by malware
  • Device drivers for FAT-related hardware are out-of-date
  • Your computer does not have the adequate system resources to open the Zinf Theme File format
