Common Problems Opening IKM Files

Missing XWE

You encounter an error message such as "%%os%% Can't Open IKM Files" when trying to open your IKM. If so, it typically means that you don't have XWE installed for %%os%%. Your operating system cannot associate your IKM with XWE, so double-clicking the file won't work.

Tip: If you know of another program that can open your IKM file, you can try opening it by selecting the application from the programs listed.

XWE is Out-of-Date

Your XWE Data file is incompatible with XWE because you might have the wrong version installed. Download the latest XWE version from the Open Source website to ensure you have the correct one installed. Most of the time your XWE Data file was created by a newer XWE than what you have installed.

Tip: Right-clicking on your IKM, then clicking "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac), can provide clues about your file version.
