JPQ File Complications
Frequent JPQ Opening Issues
JPQ (Jared Package) Library Isn't There
When trying to open your JPQ file, you get the error "Can't Open JPQ File Type". If this is the case, it's usually due to the fact that you do not have JPQ (Jared Package) Library for %%os%% installed on your computer. This will prevent you from double-clicking to open the JPQ file because the OS doesn’t know how to handle it.
Tip: If you don't have JPQ (Jared Package) Library installed, and you know of another program to open your JPQ file, you can try opening it by selecting from the programs listed under "Show Apps".
Outdated JPQ (Jared Package) Library
In other instances, your JPQ (Jared Package) Library Archive file version may not be supported by your version of JPQ (Jared Package) Library. You will need to download a newer version of JPQ (Jared Package) Library if you don't have the right version. This problem is most common when you have an older version of the software application, and your file was created by a newer version that it cannot recognize.
Tip: Investigate your JPQ file by right-clicking and selecting "Properties" to find clues on what version you need.
Summary: Not having the right JPQ (Jared Package) Library version on your computer can cause problems opening JPQ files.
Other JPQ File Opening Causes
Errors opening JPQ (Jared Package) Library Archive files can still occur even with the latest JPQ (Jared Package) Library software installed on your computer. There can be external issues inside of %%os%% that are causing these errors when opening JPQs. These issues include:
- JPQ file references in the Windows Registry are broken
- Corruption of the JPQ file description inside the Registry
- Incomplete or bad installation of a software application associated with the JPQ format
- Something has caused file corruption of your JPQ
- Your JPQ is infected with malware
