KHF File Complications
Troubles Opening KHF Files
Missing Kwalitan
You encounter an error message such as "%%os%% Can't Open KHF Files" when trying to open your KHF. When this happens, it is commonly due to Kwalitan missing in %%os%%. This will prevent you from double-clicking to open the KHF file because the OS doesn’t know how to handle it.
Tip: If you don't have Kwalitan installed, and you know of another program to open your KHF file, you can try opening it by selecting from the programs listed under "Show Apps".
Wrong Version of Kwalitan is Installed
In some cases, you might have a newer (or older) version of a Kwalitan Data File file that is unsupported by your installed application version. If you do not have the proper version Kwalitan (or any of the other programs listed above), you may need to try downloading a different version of it, or one of the other software applications listed above. This problem is predominately due to having a Kwalitan Data File file version that was created by a newer version of Kwalitan than what you have installed on your PC.
Tip: Find clues on the correct software version by right-clicking your KHF file and clicking "Properties".
Primarily, problems experienced when opening KHF files are due to having the incorrect version of Kwalitan installed on your computer.
More Causes of Problems Opening KHFs
Errors opening Kwalitan Data File files can still occur even with the latest Kwalitan software installed on your computer. There can be external issues inside of %%os%% that are causing these errors when opening KHFs. Additional factors include:
- KHF file references in the Windows Registry are broken
- Corruption of the KHF file description inside the Registry
- Defective install of a KHF program, such as Kwalitan
- Something has caused file corruption of your KHF
- Past or present virus infection has affected your KHF
- Hardware related to KHFs has device driver corruption
- Windows has inadequate resources to open your Kwalitan Data File file
