Troubleshoot LQF Files
Typical LQF Opening Challenges
LeechFTP Disappeared
Double-clicking your LQF file prompts the message "%%os%% Can't Open LQF File". Customarily, this means that LeechFTP is not installed on %%os%%. The typical path of opening your LQF with a double-click won't work because %%os%% cannot make the program connection.
Tip: When you have another program installed that you know will open your LQF, you can select it from the other programs listed (see "Show Apps").
Wrong Version of LeechFTP is Installed
In other instances, your LeechFTP Saved Queue file version may not be supported by your version of LeechFTP. Visit the Open Source website to download (or purchase) the latest version of LeechFTP. This problem is most common when you have an older version of the software application, and your file was created by a newer version that it cannot recognize.
Tip: You can sometimes get hints about the right program version by right-clicking on the LQF file, selecting "Properties", and looking at the version information.
Ultimately, most of the difficulties opening LQF files are due to having the wrong version of LeechFTP installed.
Additional LQF Opening Issues
In the majority of cases, installing the right version of LeechFTP will resolve your issue. If you are still having problems opening LQF files, there may be other issues that are preventing you from opening these files. Problems unrelated to software:
- Windows Registry LQF file paths that are incorrect
- Corruption of the LQF file description inside the Registry
- Corrupt install of LeechFTP or other LQF-related program
- File corruption affecting your LQF file
- Your LQF is infected with malware
- LQF-related hardware has device drivers that obsolete
- Windows cannot load your LeechFTP Saved Queue file due to insufficient resources (eg. RAM)
