Sources of LZO Problems
Frequent LZO Opening Issues
Missing Corel WinZip 21
When trying to open your LZO file, you get the error "Can't Open LZO File Type". If so, it typically means that you don't have Corel WinZip 21 installed for %%os%%. Because your operating system doesn't know what to do with this file, you won't be able to open it by double-clicking.
Tip: If you have another software that you know opens LZO files, you can select it by hitting the "Show Apps" button.
Obsolete Version of Corel WinZip 21
In some cases, you might have a newer (or older) version of a LZO Compressed File file that is unsupported by your installed application version. Download the latest Corel WinZip 21 version from the Corel website to ensure you have the correct one installed. The primary cause of this problem is that your LZO Compressed File file was created by a different (newer) version of Corel WinZip 21 than what's installed.
Tip: Investigate your LZO file by right-clicking and selecting "Properties" to find clues on what version you need.
Conclusion: The majority of LZO file opening issues are due to not having the correct Corel WinZip 21 version installed.
Other LZO File Opening Causes
Assuming you have the right Corel WinZip 21 version installed, other problems can prevent you from opening LZO files. If you are still having problems opening LZO files, there may be other issues that are preventing you from opening these files. Other contributing causes:
- Invalid LZO file references in the Windows Registry (the "phonebook" of the Windows Operating System)
- Deletion of the LZO file description from the Registry by mistake
- Corel WinZip 21 or another LZO application experienced a flawed installation
- LZO file corruption
- Your LZO has adversely impacted by malware
- Drivers associated with LZO software need to be updated
- Windows cannot load your LZO Compressed File file due to insufficient resources (eg. RAM)
