Sources of MAL Problems
Frequent MAL Opening Issues
MadAppLauncher Disappeared
When you double-click your MAL file, you may see a dialog box from your operating system stating that it "Cannot Open This File Type". When this happens, it is commonly due to MadAppLauncher missing in %%os%%. The OS won't know what to do with your MAL file, so double-clicking to load the file doesn't work.
Tip: If you have another software that you know opens MAL files, you can select it by hitting the "Show Apps" button.
Incorrect MadAppLauncher Version
In some cases, you might have a newer (or older) version of a MadAppLauncher Configuration File file that is unsupported by your installed application version. Download the latest MadAppLauncher version from the Open Source website to ensure you have the correct one installed. The primary cause of this problem is that your MadAppLauncher Configuration File file was created by a different (newer) version of MadAppLauncher than what's installed.
Tip: Sometimes you can get a clue about the version of MAL file you have by right clicking on the file, then clicking on "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac OSX).
Regardless, most of the MAL file opening problems relate to not having the right version of MadAppLauncher installed.
