Common Problems Opening MMP Files
MixMeister Studio Disappeared
When trying to open your MMP file, you get the error "Can't Open MMP File Type". Usually, this is because you do not have MixMeister Studio for %%os%% installed. The typical path of opening your MMP with a double-click won't work because %%os%% cannot make the program connection.
Tip: Another MMP-related program can be selected to open the file by clicking "Show Apps" and finding the application.
MixMeister Studio is Out-of-Date
Occasionally, you might have an outdated version of MixMeister Studio installed that's incompatible with your MixMeister Studio Playlist type. If you do not have the proper version MixMeister Studio (or any of the other programs listed above), you may need to try downloading a different version of it, or one of the other software applications listed above. This issue mainly occurs when your MixMeister Studio Playlist file was created by a newer version of MixMeister Studio than you have on your PC.
Tip: If you right-click on your MMP file, then select "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac), you can obtain hints about what version you need.
Primarily, problems experienced when opening MMP files are due to having the incorrect version of MixMeister Studio installed on your computer.
Other Causes of MMP File Opening Problems
Even with the correct version of MixMeister Studio installed, you can still experience difficulties opening MMPs. Other MMP opening errors can be created by other system problems inside of %%os%%. Additional factors include:
- Corrupt Windows Registry file path references for MMP
- The MMP file description within the Windows Registry was removed
- Incomplete or bad installation of a software application associated with the MMP format
- MMP file corruption
- Your MMP is infected with malware
- Device drivers for MMP-related hardware are out-of-date
- Insufficient system resources to successfully open MixMeister Studio Playlist files
