Troubleshooting Problems Opening MRI Files

PGH_MRI is Not Installed

You encounter an error message such as "%%os%% Can't Open MRI Files" when trying to open your MRI. Customarily, this means that PGH_MRI is not installed on %%os%%. The typical path of opening your MRI with a double-click won't work because %%os%% cannot make the program connection.

Tip: If you know of another program that can open your MRI file, you can try opening it by selecting the application from the programs listed.

PGH_MRI Requires Update

Sometimes your installed version of PGH_MRI won't support your Pittsburgh MRI File Format file. If you've got the wrong version of PGH_MRI installed, you'll need to install the correct version. This problem is predominately due to having a Pittsburgh MRI File Format file version that was created by a newer version of PGH_MRI than what you have installed on your PC.

Tip: Find clues on the correct software version by right-clicking your MRI file and clicking "Properties".

Conclusion: The majority of MRI file opening issues are due to not having the correct PGH_MRI version installed.
