Common Problems Opening PGT Files

Pokesav Removed

When you double-click your PGT file, you may see a dialog box from your operating system stating that it "Cannot Open This File Type". Generally, this is experienced in %%os%% because Pokesav isn't installed on your PC. Because your operating system doesn't know what to do with this file, you won't be able to open it by double-clicking.

Tip: If you don't have Pokesav installed, and you know of another program to open your PGT file, you can try opening it by selecting from the programs listed under "Show Apps".

Incorrect Pokesav Version

In other instances, your Pokémon Gift File file version may not be supported by your version of Pokesav. If you've got the wrong version of Pokesav installed, you'll need to install the correct version. This problem is most common when you have an older version of the software application, and your file was created by a newer version that it cannot recognize.
