Common Problems Opening PH4 Files

PHP Removed

You attempt to load your PH4 file and get an error such as "%%os%% Can't Open The PH4 File Extension". Generally, this is experienced in %%os%% because PHP isn't installed on your PC. Because your operating system doesn't know what to do with this file, you won't be able to open it by double-clicking.

Tip: When you have another program installed that you know will open your PH4, you can select it from the other programs listed (see "Show Apps").

Wrong Version of PHP is Installed

It is possible that your version of PHP isn't able to open your PHP Script file due to incompatibility. Download the latest PHP version from the Open Source website to ensure you have the correct one installed. Most of the time your PHP Script file was created by a newer PHP than what you have installed.

Tip: Right-clicking on your PH4, then clicking "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac), can provide clues about your file version.

Conclusion: The majority of PH4 file opening issues are due to not having the correct PHP version installed.

You can still experience errors opening PH4 files even with the latest version of PHP installed on your PC. There can be external issues inside of %%os%% that are causing these errors when opening PH4s. Problems unrelated to software:
