Understanding PNV Issues
Frequent PNV Opening Issues
CRiSP Harvest is Not Installed
You encounter an error message such as "%%os%% Can't Open PNV Files" when trying to open your PNV. Generally, this is experienced in %%os%% because CRiSP Harvest isn't installed on your PC. The OS won't know what to do with your PNV file, so double-clicking to load the file doesn't work.
Tip: If you don't have CRiSP Harvest installed, and you know of another program to open your PNV file, you can try opening it by selecting from the programs listed under "Show Apps".
Obsolete Version of CRiSP Harvest
It is possible that your version of CRiSP Harvest isn't able to open your CRiSP Harvest File file due to incompatibility. If you do not have the proper version CRiSP Harvest (or any of the other programs listed above), you may need to try downloading a different version of it, or one of the other software applications listed above. This problem is predominately due to having a CRiSP Harvest File file version that was created by a newer version of CRiSP Harvest than what you have installed on your PC.
Tip: Find clues on the correct software version by right-clicking your PNV file and clicking "Properties".
Summary: Not having the right CRiSP Harvest version on your computer can cause problems opening PNV files.
Other PNV File Issues
Assuming you have the right CRiSP Harvest version installed, other problems can prevent you from opening PNV files. Other PNV opening errors can be created by other system problems inside of %%os%%. Additional factors include:
- PNV file type Registry entries are wrong
- Corruption of the PNV file description inside the Registry
- Partial installation of CRiSP Harvest that did not fully complete
- Your PNV can't be loaded properly (file corruption)
- The PNV is infected with a virus
- Device drivers of the hardware associated with your PNV file are corrupt or out-of-date
- Too many applications are open on your PC to load your CRiSP Harvest File file successfully
