Troubleshooting Problems Opening RW Files
Common RW Opening Problems
CyberLink PowerDVD is Not Installed
If you attempt to load your RW file, you experience a message such as "Can't Open RW Files". Generally, this is experienced in %%os%% because CyberLink PowerDVD isn't installed on your PC. This will prevent you from double-clicking to open the RW file because the OS doesn’t know how to handle it.
Tip: If you have another software that you know opens RW files, you can select it by hitting the "Show Apps" button.
CyberLink PowerDVD is Out-of-Date
In some cases, you might have a newer (or older) version of a BVE Trainsim Railway Definition File file that is unsupported by your installed application version. If you've got the wrong version of CyberLink PowerDVD installed, you'll need to install the correct version. This issue mainly occurs when your BVE Trainsim Railway Definition File file was created by a newer version of CyberLink PowerDVD than you have on your PC.
Tip: Sometimes you can get a clue about the version of RW file you have by right clicking on the file, then clicking on "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac OSX).
Ultimately, most of the difficulties opening RW files are due to having the wrong version of CyberLink PowerDVD installed.
