Troubleshooting Problems Opening TSO Files
Frequent TSO Opening Issues
Siemens PLM NX Isn't There
If you attempt to load your TSO file, you experience a message such as "Can't Open TSO Files". If so, it typically means that you don't have Siemens PLM NX installed for %%os%%. The typical path of opening your TSO with a double-click won't work because %%os%% cannot make the program connection.
Tip: If you don't have Siemens PLM NX installed, and you know of another program to open your TSO file, you can try opening it by selecting from the programs listed under "Show Apps".
Outdated Siemens PLM NX
In other instances, your NX2 File 3D Faceted Spacial Volume Data file version may not be supported by your version of Siemens PLM NX. If you've got the wrong version of Siemens PLM NX installed, you'll need to install the correct version. The primary cause of this problem is that your NX2 File 3D Faceted Spacial Volume Data file was created by a different (newer) version of Siemens PLM NX than what's installed.
Tip: Sometimes you can get a clue about the version of TSO file you have by right clicking on the file, then clicking on "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac OSX).
Ultimately, most of the difficulties opening TSO files are due to having the wrong version of Siemens PLM NX installed.
Additional TSO Opening Issues
Assuming you have the right Siemens PLM NX version installed, other problems can prevent you from opening TSO files. If you are still having problems opening TSO files, there may be other issues that are preventing you from opening these files. These issues include:
- TSO file type Registry entries are wrong
- The TSO file description within the Windows Registry was removed
- Siemens PLM NX or another TSO application experienced a flawed installation
- TSO file corruption
- Your TSO is infected with malware
- Hardware related to TSOs has device driver corruption
- Windows has inadequate resources to open your NX2 File 3D Faceted Spacial Volume Data file
