TWL File Complications
Typical TWL Opening Challenges
Missing GPSBabel
You encounter an error message such as "%%os%% Can't Open TWL Files" when trying to open your TWL. Customarily, this means that GPSBabel is not installed on %%os%%. The OS won't know what to do with your TWL file, so double-clicking to load the file doesn't work.
Tip: When you have another program installed that you know will open your TWL, you can select it from the other programs listed (see "Show Apps").
GPSBabel is Out-of-Date
It is possible that your version of GPSBabel isn't able to open your Naviguide Binary GPS Track Data File file due to incompatibility. You will need to download a newer version of GPSBabel if you don't have the right version. This problem is predominately due to having a Naviguide Binary GPS Track Data File file version that was created by a newer version of GPSBabel than what you have installed on your PC.
Tip: Right-clicking on your TWL, then clicking "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac), can provide clues about your file version.
Ultimately, most of the difficulties opening TWL files are due to having the wrong version of GPSBabel installed.
