ZARGO Troubleshooting
Troubles Opening ZARGO Files
Missing ArgoUML
Double-clicking your ZARGO file prompts the message "%%os%% Can't Open ZARGO File". Generally, this is experienced in %%os%% because ArgoUML isn't installed on your PC. Your operating system cannot associate your ZARGO with ArgoUML, so double-clicking the file won't work.
Tip: If you don't have ArgoUML installed, and you know of another program to open your ZARGO file, you can try opening it by selecting from the programs listed under "Show Apps".
Wrong Version of ArgoUML is Installed
Occasionally, you might have an outdated version of ArgoUML installed that's incompatible with your ArgoUML Model type. Visit the Open Source website to download (or purchase) the latest version of ArgoUML. This problem is predominately due to having a ArgoUML Model file version that was created by a newer version of ArgoUML than what you have installed on your PC.
Tip: If you right-click on your ZARGO file, then select "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac), you can obtain hints about what version you need.
Summary: Not having the right ArgoUML version on your computer can cause problems opening ZARGO files.
Other ZARGO File Issues
Even with the correct version of ArgoUML installed, you can still experience difficulties opening ZARGOs. Other ZARGO opening errors can be created by other system problems inside of %%os%%. These other problems include (listed in order from most to least common):
- ZARGO file references in the Windows Registry are broken
- The ZARGO file description within the Windows Registry was removed
- Invalid installation of a ZARGO-associated program (eg. ArgoUML)
- The ZARGO itself is corrupted
- The ZARGO is infected with a virus
- ZARGO-related hardware has device drivers that obsolete
- Your computer does not have the adequate system resources to open the ArgoUML Model format
