Understanding MSA Issues
Frequent MSA Opening Issues
Magic Shadow Archiver Isn't There
You attempt to load your MSA file and get an error such as "%%os%% Can't Open The MSA File Extension". Usually, this is because you do not have Magic Shadow Archiver for %%os%% installed. This will prevent you from double-clicking to open the MSA file because the OS doesn’t know how to handle it.
Tip: If you don't have Magic Shadow Archiver installed, and you know of another program to open your MSA file, you can try opening it by selecting from the programs listed under "Show Apps".
Magic Shadow Archiver is Out-of-Date
It is possible that your version of Magic Shadow Archiver isn't able to open your Magic Shadow Archiver Atari Disk Image file due to incompatibility. Installing the latest version of Magic Shadow Archiver from Unknown Developer is recommended. This issue mainly occurs when your Magic Shadow Archiver Atari Disk Image file was created by a newer version of Magic Shadow Archiver than you have on your PC.
Tip: Right-clicking on your MSA, then clicking "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac), can provide clues about your file version.
Ultimately, most of the difficulties opening MSA files are due to having the wrong version of Magic Shadow Archiver installed.
