Sources of DSSC Problems
Frequent DSSC Opening Issues
Unknown Software Isn't There
You attempt to load your DSSC file and get an error such as "%%os%% Can't Open The DSSC File Extension". Usually, this is because you do not have Unknown Software for %%os%% installed. Your operating system cannot associate your DSSC with Unknown Software, so double-clicking the file won't work.
Tip: If you don't have Unknown Software installed, and you know of another program to open your DSSC file, you can try opening it by selecting from the programs listed under "Show Apps".
Incorrect Unknown Software Version
Occasionally, you might have an outdated version of Unknown Software installed that's incompatible with your Unknown File Type type. Visit the Unknown Developer website to download (or purchase) the latest version of Unknown Software. Your Unknown File Type file was probably created by a newer release of Unknown Software than what's currently installed your computer.
Tip: Right-clicking on your DSSC, then clicking "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac), can provide clues about your file version.
Summary: In either case, the majority of problems opening DSSC files are related to not having the correct software application installed on your computer.
Other DSSC File Opening Causes
You can still experience errors opening DSSC files even with the latest version of Unknown Software installed on your PC. If you are continuing to have errors with loading DSSC files, other external issues might be to blame. Additional factors include:
- Invalid DSSC file references in the Windows Registry (the "phonebook" of the Windows Operating System)
- Corruption of the DSSC file description inside the Registry
- Incomplete or bad installation of a software application associated with the DSSC format
- Your DSSC can't be loaded properly (file corruption)
- DSSC file integrity has been compromised by malware
- Device drivers of the hardware associated with your DSSC file are corrupt or out-of-date
- Your computer does not have the adequate system resources to open the Unknown File Type format
