Common Problems Opening CPT Files
Corel Presentations X8 Removed
You encounter an error message such as "%%os%% Can't Open CPT Files" when trying to open your CPT. Generally, this is experienced in %%os%% because Corel Presentations X8 isn't installed on your PC. Because your operating system doesn't know what to do with this file, you won't be able to open it by double-clicking.
Tip: If you know of another program that can open your CPT file, you can try opening it by selecting the application from the programs listed.
Incorrect Corel Presentations X8 Version
In some cases, you might have a newer (or older) version of a Corel Photo-Paint Image file that is unsupported by your installed application version. You will need to download a newer version of Corel Presentations X8 if you don't have the right version. The primary cause of this problem is that your Corel Photo-Paint Image file was created by a different (newer) version of Corel Presentations X8 than what's installed.
Tip: Right-clicking on your CPT, then clicking "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac), can provide clues about your file version.
Primarily, problems experienced when opening CPT files are due to having the incorrect version of Corel Presentations X8 installed on your computer.
