Troubleshooting Problems Opening MRC Files

Common MRC Opening Problems

mIRC is Not Installed

When trying to open your MRC file, you get the error "Can't Open MRC File Type". If so, it typically means that you don't have mIRC installed for %%os%%. Your operating system cannot associate your MRC with mIRC, so double-clicking the file won't work.

Tip: If you don't have mIRC installed, and you know of another program to open your MRC file, you can try opening it by selecting from the programs listed under "Show Apps".

Obsolete Version of mIRC

Occasionally, you might have an outdated version of mIRC installed that's incompatible with your mIRC Script File type.
