M21 File Complications
Frequent M21 Opening Issues
Missing Apple QuickTime Player
If you attempt to load your M21 file, you experience a message such as "Can't Open M21 Files". If this is the case, it's usually due to the fact that you do not have Apple QuickTime Player for %%os%% installed on your computer. The typical path of opening your M21 with a double-click won't work because %%os%% cannot make the program connection.
Tip: When another M21 application is installed, you can choose to open it by selecting "Show Apps" and using that program.
Apple QuickTime Player is Out-of-Date
In some cases, you might have a newer (or older) version of a AXMEDIS MPEG-21 File file that is unsupported by your installed application version. You will need to download a newer version of Apple QuickTime Player if you don't have the right version. The primary cause of this problem is that your AXMEDIS MPEG-21 File file was created by a different (newer) version of Apple QuickTime Player than what's installed.
Tip: Find clues on the correct software version by right-clicking your M21 file and clicking "Properties".
Regardless, most of the M21 file opening problems relate to not having the right version of Apple QuickTime Player installed.
Other Causes of M21 File Opening Problems
Errors opening AXMEDIS MPEG-21 File files can still occur even with the latest Apple QuickTime Player software installed on your computer. Other M21 opening errors can be created by other system problems inside of %%os%%. These issues include:
- File references in the Windows Registry for M21 are wrong
- Unintentional removal of the description of the M21 file inside the Windows Registry
- Apple QuickTime Player or another M21 application experienced a flawed installation
- M21 file corruption
- The M21 is infected with a virus
- Device drivers of the hardware associated with your M21 file are corrupt or out-of-date
- Too many applications are open on your PC to load your AXMEDIS MPEG-21 File file successfully
