Common Problems Opening ONEPKG Files
Microsoft OneNote Removed
You encounter an error message such as "%%os%% Can't Open ONEPKG Files" when trying to open your ONEPKG. Customarily, this means that Microsoft OneNote is not installed on %%os%%. This will prevent you from double-clicking to open the ONEPKG file because the OS doesn’t know how to handle it.
Tip: If you know of another program that can open your ONEPKG file, you can try opening it by selecting the application from the programs listed.
Wrong Version of Microsoft OneNote is Installed
In some cases, you might have a newer (or older) version of a Microsoft OneNote Package File file that is unsupported by your installed application version. You will need to download a newer version of Microsoft OneNote if you don't have the right version. This problem is predominately due to having a Microsoft OneNote Package File file version that was created by a newer version of Microsoft OneNote than what you have installed on your PC.
Tip: If you right-click on your ONEPKG file, then select "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac), you can obtain hints about what version you need.
Primarily, problems experienced when opening ONEPKG files are due to having the incorrect version of Microsoft OneNote installed on your computer.
Other ONEPKG File Issues
