IC1 Troubleshooting
Troubles Opening IC1 Files
Lemkesoft GraphicConverter is Not Installed
You encounter an error message such as "%%os%% Can't Open IC1 Files" when trying to open your IC1. Usually, this is because you do not have Lemkesoft GraphicConverter for %%os%% installed. The OS won't know what to do with your IC1 file, so double-clicking to load the file doesn't work.
Tip: If you don't have Lemkesoft GraphicConverter installed, and you know of another program to open your IC1 file, you can try opening it by selecting from the programs listed under "Show Apps".
Incorrect Lemkesoft GraphicConverter Version
In some cases, you might have a newer (or older) version of a Low Resolution Imagic Graphics File file that is unsupported by your installed application version. If you do not have the proper version Lemkesoft GraphicConverter (or any of the other programs listed above), you may need to try downloading a different version of it, or one of the other software applications listed above. Your Low Resolution Imagic Graphics File file was probably created by a newer release of Lemkesoft GraphicConverter than what's currently installed your computer.
Tip: Investigate your IC1 file by right-clicking and selecting "Properties" to find clues on what version you need.
Primarily, problems experienced when opening IC1 files are due to having the incorrect version of Lemkesoft GraphicConverter installed on your computer.
Associated Difficulties Loading IC1 Files
Even with the correct version of Lemkesoft GraphicConverter installed, you can still experience difficulties opening IC1s. There can be external issues inside of %%os%% that are causing these errors when opening IC1s. Problems unrelated to software:
- Corrupt Windows Registry file path references for IC1
- Accidental deletion of the description of the IC1 file in the Windows registry
- Corrupt install of Lemkesoft GraphicConverter or other IC1-related program
- Your IC1 can't be loaded properly (file corruption)
- Your IC1 is infected with malware
- Hardware associated with IC1 has outdated drivers
- Your computer does not have the adequate system resources to open the Low Resolution Imagic Graphics File format
