DXR File Complications

Troubles Opening DXR Files

Adobe Director Not Present

You encounter an error message such as "%%os%% Can't Open DXR Files" when trying to open your DXR. Generally, this is experienced in %%os%% because Adobe Director isn't installed on your PC. Your operating system cannot associate your DXR with Adobe Director, so double-clicking the file won't work.

Tip: When you have another program installed that you know will open your DXR, you can select it from the other programs listed (see "Show Apps").

Incorrect Adobe Director Version

Your Protected Macromedia Director Movie file is incompatible with Adobe Director because you might have the wrong version installed. If you do not have the proper version Adobe Director (or any of the other programs listed above), you may need to try downloading a different version of it, or one of the other software applications listed above. The primary cause of this problem is that your Protected Macromedia Director Movie file was created by a different (newer) version of Adobe Director than what's installed.

Tip: Right-clicking on your DXR, then clicking "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac), can provide clues about your file version.
