FSC File Complications
Common Problems Opening FSC Files
Campaign Cartographer 3 Removed
Double-clicking your FSC file prompts the message "%%os%% Can't Open FSC File". Customarily, this means that Campaign Cartographer 3 is not installed on %%os%%. The OS won't know what to do with your FSC file, so double-clicking to load the file doesn't work.
Tip: When another FSC application is installed, you can choose to open it by selecting "Show Apps" and using that program.
Obsolete Version of Campaign Cartographer 3
Sometimes your installed version of Campaign Cartographer 3 won't support your Campaign Cartographer File file. If you do not have the proper version Campaign Cartographer 3 (or any of the other programs listed above), you may need to try downloading a different version of it, or one of the other software applications listed above. This problem is most common when you have an older version of the software application, and your file was created by a newer version that it cannot recognize.
Tip: Investigate your FSC file by right-clicking and selecting "Properties" to find clues on what version you need.
Regardless, most of the FSC file opening problems relate to not having the right version of Campaign Cartographer 3 installed.
Additional FSC Opening Issues
You can still experience errors opening FSC files even with the latest version of Campaign Cartographer 3 installed on your PC. If you are continuing to have errors with loading FSC files, other external issues might be to blame. These issues include:
- Invalid FSC file references in the Windows Registry (the "phonebook" of the Windows Operating System)
- Unintentional removal of the description of the FSC file inside the Windows Registry
- Corrupt install of Campaign Cartographer 3 or other FSC-related program
- FSC file corruption
- Past or present virus infection has affected your FSC
- Drivers associated with FSC software need to be updated
- Your PC doesn’t have enough available resources to open the Campaign Cartographer File file
