Description of the drug

Boldenone undesilenate (Equipoise) is an anabolic and androgenic steroid developed for veterinary use. It is manufactured to produce long-acting methandrostenolone and is well established in the sports pharmacology market. Chemically, the boldenone molecule is a Danabol molecule that does not contain the 17-alpha methyl group. Due to the change in the shape of the double bond between the first and second carbon atom, the steroid is as potent as testosterone (its anabolic properties), whereas the androgenic activity of Boldenone-E is only half as potent.

History of the discovery of boldenone and pharmacological attempts
As early as 1949, the Swiss pharmaceutical company Ciba patented boldenone as a synthetic anabolic steroid. The company conducted many scientific experiments in the late 1960s and early 1970s in search of boldenone esters, and in the late 1960s and early 1970s finally succeeded in developing a long-acting boldenone nedesilenate ester, which was marketed as a parenabolic (i.e. injectable) preparation and used in medicine for muscle hypertrophy and to protect bones from breakdown in osteoporosis.

In the late 1960s, boldenone disappeared from the pharmaceutical market for good and reappeared on the veterinary market a few years later under the trade name ‘Equipoise’ (mainly for promoting muscle growth in horses) thanks to the US biopharmaceutical company Squibb, which marketed the drug until the end of 1985.

In 1985, the Belgian chemical company Solvay bought Boldenone from Squibb and marketed it under its own name until 1995, when it was bought by another US pharmaceutical company, Wyeth (which later became the veterinary company Fort Dodge Animal Health), which continued to market Equipoise in America and other countries.

There are now many generic versions of boldenone undesilenate on the market (drugs with the same active ingredients as the patented drugs), suggesting that all patents for this drug have now expired.

Due to the heavy and long essential chain, boldenone does not have an immediate (slow) effect on the body, but remains in the bloodstream for approximately 3-4 weeks. Another disadvantage of boldenone is that 1/3 of the drug does not work – it is a “dead weight”.

The long half-life of boldenone (the time taken for half of the drug to be eliminated from the body after the first injection, i.e. the concentration of the ester in the blood is halved) allows injections to be given no more frequently than once a week. However, pharmacologists recommend increasing the dose 1.5-2 times during the first 2 weeks, since the drug is absorbed slowly.

Which steroids can I combine (take) boldenone with?
