BPD Troubleshooting
Common BPD Opening Problems
Business Plan Pro is Not Installed
When you double-click your BPD file, you may see a dialog box from your operating system stating that it "Cannot Open This File Type". Customarily, this means that Business Plan Pro is not installed on %%os%%. Your operating system cannot associate your BPD with Business Plan Pro, so double-clicking the file won't work.
Tip: If you have another software that you know opens BPD files, you can select it by hitting the "Show Apps" button.
Business Plan Pro Requires Update
Sometimes your installed version of Business Plan Pro won't support your Business Plan Pro File file. If you've got the wrong version of Business Plan Pro installed, you'll need to install the correct version. This issue mainly occurs when your Business Plan Pro File file was created by a newer version of Business Plan Pro than you have on your PC.
Tip: Sometimes you can get a clue about the version of BPD file you have by right clicking on the file, then clicking on "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac OSX).
Primarily, problems experienced when opening BPD files are due to having the incorrect version of Business Plan Pro installed on your computer.
Other Causes of BPD File Opening Problems
Although you might already have Business Plan Pro or another BPD-associated software installed on your computer, you can still encounter problems opening Business Plan Pro File files. There can be other issues - unrelated to software - preventing you from opening BPD files. Other contributing causes:
- Invalid BPD file references in the Windows Registry (the "phonebook" of the Windows Operating System)

- Partial installation of Business Plan Pro that did not fully complete
- BPD file corruption
- Malware-tainted BPD file can't be opened
