KPR Troubleshooting

Issues Opening KPR Files

KOffice is Not Installed

If you attempt to load your KPR file, you experience a message such as "Can't Open KPR Files". Customarily, this means that KOffice is not installed on %%os%%. You won't be able to double-click to open your KPR because your OS doesn't know what to do with it.

Tip: When you have another program installed that you know will open your KPR, you can select it from the other programs listed (see "Show Apps").

Wrong Version of KOffice is Installed

Your KPresenter Presentation file is incompatible with KOffice because you might have the wrong version installed. Download the latest KOffice version from the Open Source website to ensure you have the correct one installed. This issue mainly occurs when your KPresenter Presentation file was created by a newer version of KOffice than you have on your PC.

Tip: You can sometimes get hints about the right program version by right-clicking on the KPR file, selecting "Properties", and looking at the version information.

Conclusion: The majority of KPR file opening issues are due to not having the correct KOffice version installed.

Other KPR File Opening Causes
