Understanding FST Issues
Troubles Opening FST Files
Image-Line FL Studio Removed
You encounter an error message such as "%%os%% Can't Open FST Files" when trying to open your FST. If this is the case, it's usually due to the fact that you do not have Image-Line FL Studio for %%os%% installed on your computer. The OS won't know what to do with your FST file, so double-clicking to load the file doesn't work.
Tip: If you have another software that you know opens FST files, you can select it by hitting the "Show Apps" button.
Outdated Image-Line FL Studio
In other instances, your FL Studio State File file version may not be supported by your version of Image-Line FL Studio. If you've got the wrong version of Image-Line FL Studio installed, you'll need to install the correct version. The primary cause of this problem is that your FL Studio State File file was created by a different (newer) version of Image-Line FL Studio than what's installed.
Tip: Investigate your FST file by right-clicking and selecting "Properties" to find clues on what version you need.
Summary: In either case, the majority of problems opening FST files are related to not having the correct software application installed on your computer.
Additional FST Opening Issues
Although you might already have Image-Line FL Studio or another FST-associated software installed on your computer, you can still encounter problems opening FL Studio State File files.
