Troubleshooting Problems Opening V00 Files
Issues Opening V00 Files
Kretz Software Disappeared
If you attempt to load your V00 file, you experience a message such as "Can't Open V00 Files". If so, it typically means that you don't have Kretz Software installed for %%os%%. You won't be able to double-click to open your V00 because your OS doesn't know what to do with it.
Tip: If you don't have Kretz Software installed, and you know of another program to open your V00 file, you can try opening it by selecting from the programs listed under "Show Apps".
Outdated Kretz Software
It is possible that your version of Kretz Software isn't able to open your Kretz 3D Ultrasound Image file due to incompatibility. You will need to download a newer version of Kretz Software if you don't have the right version. The primary cause of this problem is that your Kretz 3D Ultrasound Image file was created by a different (newer) version of Kretz Software than what's installed.
Tip: Sometimes you can get a clue about the version of V00 file you have by right clicking on the file, then clicking on "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac OSX).
Ultimately, most of the difficulties opening V00 files are due to having the wrong version of Kretz Software installed.
Additional V00 Opening Issues
You can still experience errors opening V00 files even with the latest version of Kretz Software installed on your PC. If you are still having problems opening V00 files, there may be other issues that are preventing you from opening these files. These other problems include (listed in order from most to least common):
- Invalid V00 file references in the Windows Registry (the "phonebook" of the Windows Operating System)
- Mistaken removal of the Windows registry V00 description
- Incomplete or bad installation of a software application associated with the V00 format
- File corruption affecting your V00 file
- Malware-tainted V00 file can't be opened
- Device drivers for V00-related hardware are out-of-date
- Windows cannot load your Kretz 3D Ultrasound Image file due to insufficient resources (eg. RAM)
